Summary:
We are searching for a can-do, forward thinking, and service heart-oriented Solution Architecture Manager for the Enterprise Payments Segment. As a Leader and Architect Manager within the Payments team, you will be responsible for leading a team of Payments Architects while promoting technical solutions that support strategic business objectives aligning with Enterprise Architecture standards and best practices.
This role ensures solutions support the ongoing maintainability, scalability, and stability of IT systems to support business longevity and growth opportunities. Collaborates with Application Architects, Segment Solution Architects, Product Managers, Business Partners, Domain Architects, Senior Leadership, Executive Leadership. Contributes to architecture leadership, talent management, directional messaging to interested parties, system capability evaluations, vendor evaluations, best practices, architecture patterns, guiding principles, and architecture governance. Serves as an expert consultant for other architects. Serves as an escalation point to set direction and resolve conflicting technology or business goals.
Summary of essential job functions
- Facilitate adherence to architecture standards and patterns
- Oversee architecture at a Segment level
- Define non-functional requirements to ensure scalability, reliability, performance, and maintainability
- Partner with the business to identify operational and financial efficiencies
- Analyze high-level functional requirements defined by the business
- Provide direction and clarity for Architects within the Payments Segment
- Design Segment specific system integration patterns
- Provide oversight, governance, and support for federated architecture
- Ensure Solutions adhere to existing Bank standards, patterns, best practices
- Ensure technical debt and recommend paths to resolution are identified and documented
- Influence technology and vendor decisions
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in technology related field
- 5+ years’ experience as an IT Architect
- 3+ years’ experience managing a technical team and the proven ability to build high performing teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years’ experience within IT
- Understanding of advanced architecture principles
- Proven ability to provide architecture direction on small to extra-large sized project/initiatives
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Strong oral and written communications skills and presentation skills
- Ability to apply architecture principles to Agile and Waterfall delivery
- Proven ability to produce, convey and drive a strategic vision
- Industry certification or proven knowledge of advanced architecture concepts
- Ability to manage others and support career growth opportunities
- Banking Industry experience, including Payment’s platforms
- Experience leading Architects in an agile practice
- Strong understanding of Cloud solution enablement
- Soft skills training or experience, participation in architecture-related courses or workshops, peer mentoring
- Experience with TOGAF or equivalent architecture frameworks
- Understanding of software development lifecycle
