Summary:
The Associate Director for Communications Operations and Governance supports Huntington’s Chief Communications Officer and the Corporate Communications Department by providing oversight of communications-related processes, documents, channels and strategic partnerships.
The successful candidate will bring strong process management and business acumen to this role, enhancing the productivity of the Communications department, helping the team execute communications strategies, and strengthening the team’s risk management measures. The individual in this role will be a change agent and collaborative problem solver, who balances goals and risks to create efficiencies for Corporate Communications and its partners.
This individual will lead a small team of communications professionals and collaborate closely with colleagues across the enterprise—as well as various external partners and vendors—to support the company’s broader communications objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee Huntington’s communications-related processes, documents, channels, distributions, dashboards, vendor relationships and strategic partnerships.
- Provide direction in the establishment of new policies, procedures and technology related to Corporate Communications.
- Oversee enterprise-wide media measurement activities, including the preparation of daily media reporting and analysis.
- Serve as department liaison for Legal, Risk, Compliance, Sourcing and Audit partners.
- Collaborates closely with colleagues in Finance to manage and update the Corporate Communications budget.
- Manage interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and performance management of team.
- Provide guidance to Communications team members on appropriate decisioning, documentation, records management and processes.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 8 -10 years of experience in the field of Communication or a related function
- 3-5 years of experience leading teams
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven leadership, management, and project management skills
- Experience working in the financial services sector or another regulated industry.
- Demonstrated ability to foster team collaboration, build relationships and drive results
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and hit tight deadlines.
- Ability to lead change across people, processes, and technology.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex information in presentations to varying levels of leadership.
- Ability to work in a small team environment, building and maintaining a network of contacts and coordinating with a large number of stakeholders.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and SharePoint)
