Summary
The Managing Director will lead the portfolio operations team and oversee all aspects of portfolio performance and relationship oversight for assigned existing OEM’s and their dealer bases. This role serves as Huntington Distribution Finance’s (HDF) strategic leader for the vertical, ensuring disciplined oversight of delinquency trends, collection and servicing activities and portfolio health. The Managing Director will work closely with Account Managers and assigned leaders to drive operational excellence, strengthen risk controls, and maintain alignment with HDF’s operational and collection practices. Additionally, this position will represent HDF at dealer shows, OEM meetings, and industry events, preparing and delivering content that reinforces HDF’s value proposition and thought leadership. Building strong cross-functional relationships with credit, risk, and portfolio teams will be critical to success.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Portfolio Oversight & Risk Management
- Lead and monitor portfolio performance, including delinquency, aging, and other key portfolio trends
- Ensure adherence to HDF’s risk framework balancing OEM and dealer needs with financial and operational requirements.
- Partner with credit and risk teams to proactively identify trends, mitigate exposure, and implement portfolio strategies.
- Strategic Leadership
- - Define and continuously refine the vertical strategy to maintain competitiveness and protect portfolio integrity while balancing growth initiatives to support the OEMs and the industry.
- - Leverage market intelligence and data analytics to validate and adjust portfolio strategies.
- - Act as the subject matter expert for the assigned industry, educating internal teams and driving adoption of key initiatives.
- - Lead strategic initiatives aimed at promoting and supporting growth by identifying more efficient and effective methods.
- Industry Engagement
- Represent HDF at OEM meetings, dealer shows, and industry events; prepare and deliver presentations, reviews, and strategic content.
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with OEMs, associations, and key stakeholders to support portfolio stability and growth.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Build strong partnerships with credit, risk, and operational teams to ensure alignment on portfolio objectives.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to enhance customer experience and incorporate feedback into decision-making.
- Leadership & Team Development
- Provide guidance and oversight to Account Managers and assigned leaders, ensuring consistent execution of portfolio and risk strategies.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.
- Other Responsibilities
- Promote HDF’s reputation and thought leadership within the industry.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field.
- 15+ years of experience in Distribution Finance.
- 5+ years of leadership experience with direct oversight of portfolio and risk management.
- Experience engaging with senior leadership of OEMs or similar organizations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong analytical and financial acumen with expertise in portfolio and risk oversight.
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to influence, collaborate, and build cross-functional relationships.

Compensation Range:
$125,000 - $255,000 Annual SalaryThe compensation range represents the low and high end of the base compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. Colleagues in this position are also eligible to participate in an applicable incentive compensation plan. In addition, Huntington provides a variety of benefits to colleagues, including health insurance coverage, wellness program, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plan, paid leave programs, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
