Insurance Compliance and Risk Specialist Senior

Summary:

The Insurance Compliance and Risk Spec - Sr serves as the technical expert and primary source of compliance support and advice to the line of business for general or complex issues related to a regulation or a series of regulations and the potential risks impacting a line of business. The role will serve as a similar expert and source of compliance support in the areas of vendor management, licensing, contracting, and risk management.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provides advice and serves as subject matter expert on regulations or series of regulations to the business. Participates and attends meetings of teams in order to enhance effectiveness and advise on impact of regulations and other risks which may influence business practices.
  • Identifies needs for, establishes, and maintains policies, procedures and workflow that are influenced by regulations in area of expertise. Exercises autonomy in issuing routine and complex opinions based upon thorough knowledge of applicable regulations and business unit policies and procedures. Capable of independently completing parts of complex/advanced analysis.
  • Responds to and resolves issues arising within the business related to area of expertise.
  • Forms and directs the work of collaborative teams involving other areas of the company including Legal, Corporate Compliance and Risk in order to address very complex issues to ensure business unit compliance. Collaborates with business through participation in meetings to develop and implement strategic initiatives. 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 8+ years of experience supporting compliance and/or regulatory oversight

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to research complex regulatory guidance and apply to the line of business
  • Collaborative skills required
  • Licensed in a line of authority in insurance
