Summary:
The Geographic Expansion Community Launch & Engagement Manager leads the planning and execution of new branch openings across our footprint. Utilizes strategic thinking, market knowledge and market relationships to drive Huntington’s business effectiveness, optimize Huntington’s profile locally, and develop and deepen strategic community partnerships. This colleague will bring new branches to life by creating meaningful, community-driven opening events that reflect the unique identity of each market.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Lead the planning and execution of grand opening events, ensuring strong alignment with community values and business goals.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, supplies, permits, and create internal communication schedules to align stakeholders.
• Partner with local leadership to gather market insights and community priorities. Will work closely with the Regional Marketing Manager to identify vendors, guest lists, themes, and local market opportunities.
• Identify, negotiate, and manage third-party vendors including caterers, rental companies, and entertainers.
• Engage local non-profits, media, and influencers to elevate event visibility and brand reputation.
• Travels to event sites (typically within 1–2 days of the event) and serves as the lead point-of-contact during setup, event execution, and takedown.
• Coordinate with internal partners to execute flawless logistics and day-of ground support. This includes vendor deliveries, signage placement, catering setup, and branding execution.
• Troubleshoot and make real-time decisions to ensure a smooth experience.
• Captures photos, videos, and feedback during and after the event.
This role requires travel
Basic Qualifications:
- 10+ years experience in event planning, community engagement, project management, or a related field.
- Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in event planning, community engagement, project management, within Consumer Banking
- Bachelor's Degree in hospitality management, event management planning, marketing, business administration
- Ability to manage complex, multi-step timelines and coordinate across teams.
- Experience sourcing, negotiating, and managing third-party vendors within a defined budget.
- Skilled at building relationships with nonprofits, local leaders, media, and influencers.
- Ability to handle site logistics, permits, setup, and scheduling for smooth event delivery.
- Detail-Oriented – Thorough and organized in planning, communication, and execution
- Strong time management and ability to handle multiple launches simultaneously.
