Enterprise Counterparty Aggregation Team Director

Key Responsibilities:

Counterparty Credit Exposure Aggregation:

  • Lead the team in aggregating and monitoring counterparty credit exposure across the entire institution, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Develop and implement strategies for effective aggregation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements such as Basel III and Dodd-Frank.

Risk Management & Analysis:

  • Work closely with risk management teams to assess and analyze counterparty credit risk and exposures across various asset classes and products.
  • Provide insight into credit exposure levels and proactively identify and manage risks associated with counterparties.
  • Utilize advanced analytics and modeling techniques to aggregate exposure and identify areas requiring further mitigation.

Reporting & Regulatory Compliance:

  • Work closely with Finance to ensure that counterparty credit exposure is accurately reported in internal and external reports, including regulatory filings.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports to senior management and associated Risk and Finance Committees, as needed.
  • Stay updated on changing regulatory requirements and ensure compliance with credit exposure aggregation rules.

Strategic Planning & Improvement:

  • Develop and drive strategic initiatives to enhance the aggregation process, improving efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of systems and processes.
  • Lead projects to upgrade and enhance risk management infrastructure, including integrating new technologies for more effective exposure management.

Collaboration:

  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders including Credit Admin, Finance, and Data Office to ensure seamless integration of credit exposure data across the organization.
  • Engage with regulators and external auditors during reviews or examinations related to counterparty credit exposure and risk management.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead and manage a team of credit risk/data professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide training, mentoring, and career development opportunities for team members

Basic Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field. Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., FRM, CFA) preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 10+ years of experience in credit risk management, counterparty credit exposure, or related financial risk management roles within a banking or financial services institution.
    • Proven leadership experience, including team management and strategic project leadership.
    • Expertise in counterparty credit risk aggregation, financial regulations, and exposure management techniques.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of risk management systems, credit risk software, and financial modeling tools.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, and experience with coding languages such as Python or SQL is a plus.
  • Knowledge:
    • In-depth understanding of Basel III, Dodd-Frank, and other relevant regulatory frameworks.
    • Knowledge of counterparty credit risk modeling and management techniques.
    • Familiarity with stress testing methodologies and capital adequacy assessments.
    • Strong leadership and team management abilities
    • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills
    • Ability to collaborate across departments and manage complex projects
    • Deep understanding of credit risk exposure across various asset classes and trading activities
    • Ability to adapt to regulatory changes and ensure compliance

Compensation Range:

$170,000.00 - $260,000.00 –$350,000.00

The compensation range represents the low and high end of the base compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.  Colleagues in this position are also eligible to participate in an applicable incentive compensation plan.  In addition, Huntington provides a variety of benefits to colleagues, including health insurance coverage, wellness program, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plan, paid leave programs, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
