Summary:
The Design Manager coordinates all design related matters for Corporate and Retail capital projects and is responsible for the day-to-day management of architectural and interior design activities. The Design Manager works with the Planning, Design and Construction Director to establish and monitor design direction and with Architects, Designers, Engineers, vendors and other parties to ensure that Huntington goals and objectives for new construction and renovated spaces are met and that standards and brand integrity are maintained for the maximum benefit of colleagues and customers.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to coordinating design related activities with HNB Real Estate, Space Planning, Construction Projects Managers and Director; direct and manage external design vendors providing test-fit, Schematic Design, Design Development, and Construction Documents (CDs); develop and maintain workplace and retail standards; coordinate with and integrate the work of internal partners including Retail Operations, Security, IT, Marketing; coordinate with and integrate the work of external vendors including bank equipment, furniture, material suppliers, interior and exterior signage; review CDs and FF&E packages and monitor work during implementation to ensure design intent.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain and enhance HNB brand and standards for Corporate and Retail capital projects.
Serve as the day-to-day contact for all design related matters on construction projects and major reconfigurations of existing workplace.
Manage and motivate external design partners including Architects, Engineers, Contractors, and Suppliers, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
Communicate performance expectations, provide design feedback and monitor the work of internal partners and external vendors to ensure successful design and construction coordination and maximum benefit for HNB.
In partnership with Marketing, develop and integrate environmental branding, merchandising, and signage in Retail and Corporate projects.
In partnership with Space Planning, develop and maintain furniture and finish standards for HNB corporate spaces.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree.
Candidates will have 5 years experience in the design field and/or corporate real estate.
Licensing/Certifications:
Professional Certification such as AIA, NCIDQ, PMP, CPM, CCIM, LEED.
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated record of design leadership and achievement delivering projects and/or programs over $5 Million in total value.
Successful track record leading cross-functional project teams.
Experience with real estate transactions and landlord coordination.
Experience developing and maintaining project budgets and schedules.
Experience with sustainable building practices.
Knowledge of furniture systems.
Proficiency with Microsoft Project or other project management software.
Proficiency with Sketch-Up, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator or other 3D rendering options.
Exempt Status: (Yes = not eligible for overtime pay) (No = eligible for overtime pay)

Compensation Range:
102,000.00 - 208,000.00 AnnualThe compensation range represents the low and high end of the base compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. Colleagues in this position are also eligible to participate in an applicable incentive compensation plan. In addition, Huntington provides a variety of benefits to colleagues, including health insurance coverage, wellness program, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plan, paid leave programs, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
