Description
Review all aspects of various complex interest rate and commodity derivatives trades for completeness and accuracy. Interpret interest rate and commodities trades and, based on instrument type, prepare appropriate long form confirmation ensuring that relevant legal terms are properly included. Using proper derivative platforms, ensure client information is properly set up. Configure derivatives systems to properly execute settlements based on terms of trade. Research accounting outages and determine steps to resolve issues. Prepares / assists in preparation of procedures and job aides. Prepares ad-hoc reports. Works with audit / risk to provide information and test internal controls. Assists in the training of new colleagues. Team member in high profile/special projects. Performs QC check on completed work.
This will be a hybrid position located at 7 Easton Oval, Columbus, Ohio.
Review complex interest rate and commodity derivative trades for completeness and accuracy.
Interpret interest rate and commodities trades and based on instrument type, prepare appropriate confirmation documents ensuring that relevant legal terms are properly included.
Conduct phone confirmations, as required, for key economic terms of commodity trades.
Using Summit and Kiodex, vendor derivatives platforms for interest rate and commodities, setup and maintain client information.
Responsible for ensuring all associated GL entries post properly and that account balances between GL and subledger stay in balance.
Research accounting outages and determine appropriate steps to resolve out-of-balance situations. Prepare or assist in preparation of procedures and job aides.
Prepares ad-hoc reports requested within business line.
Work with audit or risk colleagues to provide information and test internal controls.
Assist in the training of new colleagues on any and all functions.
Participate in high profile/special projects. Performs quality check on completed work.
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma
3 or more years of experience supporting financial operations, and/or working with loan or derivative documentation, settlements and/or knowledge of general ledger postings.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience with or knowledge of Derivative products is highly desirable.
Above average knowledge of MS Office applications.
Strong organizational and telephone skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a team environment, resolve problem independently, inform management of all appropriate issues, and work with a sense of urgency while maintaining close attention to detail.
A passion for customer service, a strong work ethic, and a can-do positive attitude are essential
