Job Summary:
The Credit Card Acquisition Risk Strategy Manager has the primary responsibility for the quantitative development and monitoring of Huntington’s consumer card credit strategies for acquiring new accounts. This includes the strategies for initial customer and prospect targeting, account approvals, and initial credit line assignment. In addition, this includes the responsibility for ensuring that the ongoing new account credit mix is consistent with established loss and risk-adjusted return portfolio targets.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Comprehensive oversight for all consumer credit card new account origination credit strategies; this includes strategy development, segment-level reporting, and change management activities
- Lead resource in developing quantitative analysis to improve Huntington’s credit card loss and risk-adjusted return results; this includes the planning, execution, presentation, implementation, monitoring, and re-development phases
- Development and maintenance of champion-challenger tests across various approval and line assignment strategies, including regular reporting of results to senior management
- Continuous interaction with key business partners to advance business priorities, including Credit Administration, Underwriting, Fraud, Model Risk Management, Product, and Legal/Compliance
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of Risk Management experience in the financial services industry
- Fluency in SQL, SAS, or comparable coding experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with automated decision engines such as Zoot, Power Curve, or Strategy Manager
- Previous analytical experience in the Card industry, and a demonstrated understanding of the credit card P&L and credit risk management best practices
- Strong organization and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong leadership skills and ability to think independently
- Strong analytical skills and thought process, with a high degree of attention to detail
- Ability to articulate problem solving methodology used to research and create solutions
- Ability to work on multiple projects at once, prioritizing within tight time constraints
- Customer service orientation, with respect to both internal and external customers
- Master’s Degree in Statistics, Business Analytics, or comparable coursework
