Summary: 

 

Huntington’s Consumer and Regional Bank – SAS Data Analyst and Risk Manager will be responsible for providing reporting, data governance and analytic support to manage risk across Huntington’s product portfolios 

Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Analysis of risk and risk related issues across the entire portfolio to monitor trends and identify potential areas of concern. 
  • Collaborate with Segment Risk, Product, Retail Support, Legal, Regulatory Compliance, and Audit partners to develop and execute data driven solutions. 
  • Ability to quickly learn the data environment to source data and query large datasets across multiple databases to create meaningful insights. 
  • Critical thinking skills to ask the right questions so analysis is accurate and actionable in a timely fashion. 
  • Ability to effectively visualize and summarize work products for a variety of audiences. 
  • Ad-hoc analysis & standard reporting delivered to key stakeholders. 
  • Identification of data-related controls on systems that support critical segment processes and customers.   
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree, in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree 4 additional years of segment-specific or risk related experience with focus on data analysis and reporting. 
  • 5 years of experience in financial services. 
  • Demonstrated expertise using SAS for data analysis and reporting tasks. 
  • Strong experience using other data manipulation tools such as SQL, R, or Python, Business Objects, etc to query large databases and manipulate large data files. 
  • Experience presenting analytical findings to technical and non-technical audiences to guide business decision-making. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • SAS certification (if not present at hiring, obtain within one year and potentially additional levels once on the job).  
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with other business intelligence and data mining tools such as BusinessObjects, Microstrategy, Tableau, MS Access, MS Excel, R, Python, and SPSS. 
  • Basic experience with UNIX command line. 
  • Experience with cloud-based analytics services such as Snowflake and AWS. 
  • Experience with Data Management and Governance policies, standards, metrics, controls, and processes. 
  • Knowledge of a variety of banking products and systems such as Checking, Savings, Loans and Credit Card. 
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written). 
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams as well as independently across multiple tasks while meeting aggressive timelines. 
  • Strong attention to detail and an ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
