Summary:
The Capital Markets Operations group is expanding banking, sales and trading capabilities, and is seeking a hands-on data analytics analyst to develop data frameworks and interactive visualized analytics.
This position is for a analytics developer for the creation of new, and support of existing, SQL and Python code and datasets for the Capital Markets businesses, which include Fixed Income, Equities, Derivatives, Commodities, Foreign Exchange, and Corporate Finance banking groups. We are looking for an individual who is self-motivated, resourceful, and has a strong background in applied database coding/programming using SQL, Python, scripting tools, and visualized analytics software (Tableau, Streamlit, PowerBI, Crystal Reports). Candidates should have an avid interest in the financial markets and working with others to identify trends and insights from large dataset.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Daily work will include maintaining numerous data analytics reporting processes, becoming a subject matter expert on many large capital markets datasets, creating and editing python and sql code, and managing ad hoc inquiries, reporting and dashboarding using Tableau, Microsoft Excel, Crystal Reports, SQL, Python, and custom report requests and ad hoc query creation is frequent. Data maintenance and analysis is critical for accurate management reporting.
New projects will include partnering with Operations, sales, traders and management to solve complex analytics problems using large datasets, extensive ETL and scripts to create desired analytics outputs and reports. Visualized analytics reporting will be used to provide end users with insights and interactive environments to enable further refinement and data analysis.
Maintains in-depth knowledge of business processes and applications and stays current in technical enhancements, methodologies and trends related to the assigned application(s)
Analyzes existing processes and systems and identifies technical or procedural improvements
Recommends business practices to optimize use of business process/system(s)
Develops operational procedures for products, services and systems.
Designs processes to meet regulatory requirements
Develops and generates special and ad hoc reports
Provides technical support to business unit, customers, management and other users
Serves as liaison between software vendors and business process system users and other corporate areas
Performs other duties as assigned
Researches complex problems and acts independently to resolve
May serve as lead analyst in training or projects
This is a hybrid role. You must be located near a Huntington Corporate office
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree
5 or more years of Business Analyst experience
High School diploma and 9 years of Business Analyst experience in lieu of Bachelor Degree
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel knowledge
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficient with reporting tools and code development for Crystal Reports and Microsoft SQL Server
Strong analytical and problem solving skills with working knowledge of SQL, Python, and interactive visualization tools (Tableau, Streamlit, PowerBI)
Business intelligence visualization and dashboard toolsi including Tableau, Microsoft PowerBI, Qlik and/or Looker
Knowledge of Python is a plus
Experience using Microsoft Power Apps
Basic understanding or strong interest in capital markets and the role of analytics in driving capital markets business
Experience with Capital Markets products and applications (Wallstreet, Calypso, Kiodex, Bloomberg, Netx360)
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel Macro development and support
Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to multi task and work in a fast paced environment with excellent troubleshooting, problem solving and organizational skills
Keen attention to detail
Ability to identify continuous improvement opportunities and solutions
Proficiency in managing multiple priorities and ability to re-prioritize as appropriate
Ability to think strategically

Compensation Range:
$57,000-$113,000 Annual SalaryThe compensation range represents the low and high end of the base compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. Colleagues in this position are also eligible to participate in an applicable incentive compensation plan. In addition, Huntington provides a variety of benefits to colleagues, including health insurance coverage, wellness program, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plan, paid leave programs, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
