Segment Risk Manager Sr - Hybrid Role

Description

This role will function as a subject matter expert and segment risk manager supporting the execution of Risk Management functions/activities within Credit Administration, specifically focused on consumer products (Mortgage, Vehicle Loans, Personal Credit Lines, DDA, RV/Marine, and Credit Card) and servicing within the segment:  Consumer Default Servicing, including Customer Assistance/Collections, Loss Mitigation, Foreclosure, Repossession and Bankruptcy. This position will work with business segment management teams to assist in identifying key risks and controls.

Description

Some of the responsibilities include:

  • Develop subject matter expertise in the business unit areas through the development and maintenance of process maps to identify key risks and controls. Risk rate the strength of controls identified to determine residual risk level and develop testing schedules and appropriate frequency of testing.
  • Work with the Business Unit Managers in the administration, development, implementation and maintenance of the risk management program for consumer product servicing.
  • Work with business segments to identify key risks and controls and to assist in the development of effective internal control processes.
  • Manage the determination of self-monitoring and testing activities for Compliance, Internal, SOX and Policy Controls to ensure they are performed in accordance with Corporate Risk Management requirements.
  • Provide and manage data for Credit Administration in Enterprise Risk Management System (ERMS), including metrics, controls and testing.
  • Collaborate with Compliance and/or Legal as necessary to evaluate risk issues and events.
  • Deliver timely escalation of all issues requiring attention to management.
  • Collaborate with business segment, Internal Audit, and Corporate Risk to address issues with plausible action plans and target dates for completion. Follow-up to ensure all required deadlines are met.
  • Work with the business segment to ensure the overall risk function is effectively supporting strategic goals.
  • Assist as needed in the completion of the quarterly Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA)

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5 or more years experience in risk management or in a consumer default role. (experience within credit administration, risk, compliance, or audit a plus)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of consumer default servicing activities, including both regulatory and legal requirements associated with these activities a plus
  • Proficient analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment.
  • Must be able to work independently, as part of a group, or group leader to resolve issues and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of risk management principles, including experience in policy management and related governance activities a plus
