Summary:
- Seeking a skilled and motivated Network Automation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain automation solutions for managing network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of networking concepts, programming skills, and experience with automation frameworks to improve the efficiency, scalability and reliability of our network operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and implement network automation tools and scripts to streamline configuration, provisioning, and monitoring processes.
- Collaborate with network engineering/operations teams to enhance performance, troubleshoot issues, and reduce operational inefficiencies.
- Automate repetitive tasks such as device configuration, software upgrades, and network performance monitoring.
- Integrate automation solutions with existing network management systems, including APIs and third-party tools.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for automation workflows, processes and tools.
- Develop automated alerts and dashboards to monitor network health and detect anomalies.
- Work with cross-functional teams to align network automation strategies with business objectives.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree.
- 5+ years of experience with automating network infrastructure using Ansible/Python.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Experience with network automation frameworks/tools like Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or Terraform.
- Proficiency with version control systems such as Git
- Strong understanding of networking protocols (eg., BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLANs).
- Hands-on experience with SDN (Software Defined Networking) technologies.
- Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
- Knowledge of network monitoring and visualization tools (eg., Zenoss, LiveAction, ThousandEyes, Grafana)
- Experience with APIs, integrations (Service-Now, Splunk etc.).
- Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S) and network device configurations.
- Advanced understanding of business technology drivers and their impact on architecture design.
- Proficient in more than one specific infrastructure technology.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communications skills (written and verbal) and ability to work both independently and in a group.
- Ability to effectively multi-task and prioritize. Self-directed and accountable.
- Experience in an enterprise environment and previous banking/financial industry experience is a plus.
Exempt Status: (Yes = not eligible for overtime pay) (No = eligible for overtime pay)
