Description
The Issues Risk Management Operational Excellence Manager is responsible for addressing Issues enterprise-wide on the back end through implementation root cause solutions to gaps in process, role clarity, control environment, training and change management. This will entail developing processes, process maps, policy and procedural changes, control design changes, training, change management expectations, and working with key owners to remediate gaps.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop risk process and control solutions to root cause themes with Frameworks, Corporate Policies, and Operating Procedures to determine gaps in role clarity and process.
- Develop risk process and control solutions root cause themes with key processes and End-to-End Process Mapping to identify gaps. Develop recommendations and training material.
- Work with Risk Management leadership, business unit leaders, and corporate support function leaders to interpret risk impacts and develop solutions from identified gaps or regulatory changes.
- Coordinate with Pillar Risk Owners, Enterprise Risk Management, and key stakeholders to remediate identified gaps. • Develop recommendations and training materials.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Minimum 7 or more years in-depth banking knowledge and expertise that translates into effective operational risk practices, processes, and procedures.
- 2 or more years Operations/Operational Risk/Risk Management/Technology/Audit experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Deep understanding of roles and responsibilities of bank-wide functions across all three lines of defense.
- Front-office and back-office policy expertise in Issues management, regulatory and audit expectations, and risk processes. Experience in front-office and back-office process mapping and linking Issues management thematic gaps to End-to-End mapping of core processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or business Administration
- Large Bank transformational, Issues Management, or regulatory experience.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills. • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to interact with all levels of an organization, including senior executive-level leaders.
- Experience communicating with business partners and project Directors.
- Experience communicating in both written and verbal formats.
- Ability to educate and drive cultural awareness of effective risk management.
- Excellent influencing, consulting, and communication skills.
