Description
Within the Consumer Finance Segment, the product set includes Auto, Home Equity, Mortgage, and other Direct. The primary focus of the Quantitative Analyst role will be to conduct analytics and deliver reporting related to business strategy, credit, fraud, and operational risk.
The selected individual will develop and execute collaborative efforts to ensure business and credit initiatives are delivered successfully through critical analytics, close collaboration with key business stakeholders, and a high level of responsiveness to market changes. Working with cross functional teams to understand and connect market dynamics and price optimization strategies will be necessary in this role. The selected individual will develop reporting to effectively monitor the health of the portfolio and specific strategies.
As the 1st line of defense, this position will be responsible for supporting and monitoring the health of the business by converting analytic insights into recommendations in concert with our risk appetite framework. This includes developing credit, fraud, and business risk-based strategies in close partnership with 2nd and 3rd line of defense partners. Additionally, support Underwriting with an eye towards loss mitigation resulting from inadequate or failed processes, systems, human factors, or external events.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and monitoring risk-based customer acquisition strategies to support credit policy, underwriting procedures, and market analysis ensuring they align with the risk appetite framework
- Delivering risk-based analysis and reporting related to underwriting strategies and operational process
- Developing business strategies with a bias for sound credit performance
- Monitoring new originations identifying areas of potential adverse selection and recommend remediation efforts to senior leadership
- Developing and monitoring fraud mitigation strategies including close collaboration with other Huntington product lines and the Corporate fraud team
- Execute reports and analytics interpret results, and present recommendations to Credit and Business leadership
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- A minimum of 3 years of analytical experience in a corporate environment is required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proven ability to effectively gather and interpret large datasets
- 3+ years of hands-on experience working with large working with large databases in a complex data environment
- 3+ years of hands-on experience using SAS and SQL to extract and manipulate data from disparate sources
- Proven ability to successfully execute tactical and strategic initiatives
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and being comfortable giving executive level presentations
- Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills with the ability to effectively multi-task and manage competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail
- Demonstrated success working in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
- Working knowledge of consumer lending products – Auto, Home Equity, Mortgage, Unsecured Loans and Lines
