Description
The Compliance Testing Group Team Lead conducts and leads comprehensive 2nd Line of Defense compliance testing reviews to evaluate adherence to banking rules, consumer protection laws and regulations, and Huntington's compliance risk policies and procedures.

The Compliance Testing Group Team Lead will complete all phases of compliance testing including planning and scoping, execution, and reporting. Will provide guidance, direction and oversee the work product of more junior level testers. The Compliance Testing Group Team Lead will further assist with maintaining and ensuring quality in Huntington's compliance-related Enterprise Risk Management System records, assist in development and maintenance of compliance testing procedures, tools and templates, development and maintenance of the annual testing plan and provide technical compliance assistance including researching and root cause analysis of compliance related findings.
Responsibilities include:
- Independently perform all testing phases, of the compliance review process including:
- Planning and scoping, fieldwork, and reporting. Responsible for timely completion of assigned testing reviews.
- Analyze data to determine adherence to the applicable banking rules and regulations as well as to Huntington's compliance risk policies and procedures.
- Create detailed, substantiated work papers that document and support the conclusions of each review; may assist with reviewing and validating work papers of other testers.
- Research compliance issues and resolve problems, providing interpretations and clarifications, as necessary.
- Advise on and recommend improvements on business process, policy, and procedure, self-testing, or other controls based on observations during testing.
- Effectively communicate findings and recommendations with stakeholders via timely status updates and formal written reports with follow up to ensure areas of concern are corrected in a specified timeframe.
- Assist in monitoring open compliance findings until satisfactorily resolved and escalate status as warranted.
- Continuously collaborate with the Compliance Testing Manager throughout testing engagements and ensure meeting or exceeding all Testing Group expectations.
- Assist the Compliance Testing Manager with:
- Writing, editing, and in limited circumstances, presenting compliance material.
- Lead/support special projects.
- Assisting in updating CTG policies, procedures, and training.
- Help to coordinate request materials for audit and regulatory compliance examinations.
- Mentor, coach, and develop less experienced or new compliance colleagues to facilitate team engagement. Foster an environment of teamwork, inclusiveness and career growth and development.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 5 or more years of regulatory compliance, legal, internal audit, or risk management experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree or certification (i.e., CRCM, CAMS, CPA
