Summary:

The Director of Planning, Design and Construction’s principal purpose is the continuous improvement and effective management of Huntington’s corporate workplace and retail branch network.  Workplace management includes workplace strategy, programming, space planning, occupancy and space management, space utilization, and the design and implementation of workplace projects.  Retail management includes evaluation of new sites, development and implementation of retail standards, and design and implementation of retail projects. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and direction for space planning, space management, architectural and interior design, construction, move management, and special projects in support of HNB’s goals and business objectives.
  • Responsible for strategic space planning while ensuring HNB maximizes the use of its real estate portfolio, responsible for strategic workplace design standards across HNB’s real estate portfolio.
  • Responsible for retail design standards for new construction to maximize HNB’s investment and align with HNB brand and brand standards.
  • Provides direction and oversight of priorities, scope, budgets, schedules and quality of corporate and retail capital projects to direct reports and overall Planning, Design and Construction (PDC) team.
  • Manage, motivate, and develop direct reports and overall PDC team fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Identify process improvements and other means to increase efficiency and quality and lead team and impacted partners through changes.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 7 years of related experience in planning, design, and/or construction including minimum of 2 years supervision experience.

Licensing/Certifications:

  • AIA, ASID, PMP, CPM, CCIM, LEED

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree.
  • 10+ years of experience working in Corporate Real Estate representing owners and supervising colleagues.
  • Demonstrated record of leadership and achievement delivering projects and/or multi-site programs over $10 Million in total value.
  • Proven track record delivering integrated projects - both ground-up development and interior build-outs.
  • Successful track record leading cross-functional project teams.
  • Experience with sustainable building practices.
