Description
Huntington's Vice President is a mid-career professional within the Syndicated and Leveraged Finance (SLF) team, responsible for leading key aspects of transaction origination and execution. Positioned between senior coverage officers, Managing Director and junior team members, Analysts and Associates, this role plays a critical part in driving deal success and supporting the broader strategic goals of the team. Our new colleague will manage the full lifecycle of SLF transactions—from developing client materials and leading investor meetings to coordinating execution and mentoring junior colleagues. The role requires strong technical expertise, market awareness, and the ability to operate independently while collaborating across teams.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead execution efforts for mandated and prospective transactions, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met.
- Prepare launch materials, coordinate lender meetings, and manage due diligence processes.
- Support the development of syndication strategies in collaboration with the Syndicate Sales & Trading desk.
- Participate in client and investor meetings, presenting materials and responding to inquiries.
- Assist in structuring customized financing solutions tailored to client needs.
- Contribute to idea generation and origination efforts under the strategic direction of senior colleagues.
- Mentor and train junior team members, providing guidance throughout the transaction process.
- Serve as a key liaison between senior bankers and junior staff, ensuring seamless execution and communication.
- Assist in preparing internal reports on business performance and market dynamics.
- Monitor industry trends, market developments, and investor sentiment.
- Maintain CRM systems and databases to track deal pipelines and client interactions.
- Build expertise in corporate finance, valuation, and capital markets products.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Capital Markets, Investment Banking, or Corporate Finance
- FINRA Series 79, 63 (or equivalent)
- Located in or willing to relocate to Charlotte, NC or Columbus, OH

- Strong working knowledge of loan and securities markets
- Proven leadership and mentoring capabilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across all organizational levels
- Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial modeling
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
