Summary:
The Municipal Syndicate Operations Analyst is responsible for supporting municipal competitive and negotiated underwriting deal processing, execution, and settlement. The ideal candidate will work closely with all members of the internal deal team including underwriters, investment bankers, sales and operations, as well as external partners including bond counsel, municipal advisors, and syndicate members to ensure timely, accurate and compliant execution of transactions. This role offers an excellent opportunity to learn about the municipal securities business. Additionally, you may participate in special projects to drive process improvement.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Setup new issue information into Deals Database and Ipreo Municipal Bookbuild
- Order CUSIPs for competitive and negotiated deals
- Ensure accuracy of deal data and ticket information in Ipreo, Bloomberg, and Deals Database
- Communicate pre-sale good faith notification emails to internal partners. Coordinate good faith and closing wires
- Review deal file checklist for all transactions and prepare deal files for closure
- Process MSRB G-11 Syndicate Settlements
- Process Private Placements settlements
- Assists in the reviewing of official statements, bond purchase agreements, issue price certificates and closing memos as needed
- Distributing offering material for competitive and negotiated offerings
- Assist with recordkeeping, revenue tracking, and expenses for all transactions
- Work with sales and trading desk to ensure smooth execution of transactions including interacting with operations
- Maintain adherence to firm policies and procedures
- Conduct continuing disclosure lookbacks on Issuers for negotiated or competitive underwritings
- Complete Form G-32 Filings
- Assist with Risk and Audit requests and inquiries
- Opportunity to expand support to Debt and Equity Capital Markets underwriting activity
- Provide administrative support, as needed
This is a hybrid role preferably located near 222 N LaSalle, Chicago IL or 5555 Cleveland Ave, Columbus, Ohio, or within the Huntington Bank Corporate office footprint.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree
5 or more years municipal underwriting operations, fixed income operations, or similar broker dealer operations experience
High School diploma with 9 years of experience/education in municipal underwriting operations, fixed income operations, or similar broker dealer operations experience
Preferred Qualifications:
FINRA Series 52 or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment
Experience managing new issues across asset classes, with a focus on Municipal securities
Experience in fixed income securities
Proficient with Bloomberg TOMS and Ipreo Municipal Bookrunning systems
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment; adaptive to change
Ability to create and foster strong partnerships with internal and external business partners
Detail oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills to identify issues and assist with resolution
Strong written and verbal communication
Proficient with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft products Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Compensation Range:
63,000.00 - 124,000.00 AnnualThe compensation range represents the low and high end of the base compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. Colleagues in this position are also eligible to participate in an applicable incentive compensation plan. In addition, Huntington provides a variety of benefits to colleagues, including health insurance coverage, wellness program, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plan, paid leave programs, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
