Description
We’re looking for a Google Data Architect who is passionate about cloud technologies, modern data engineering, and building solutions that make a real impact across the enterprise. This role is ideal for someone who has a solid foundation in data engineering, analytics, or cloud development and is ready to take the next step into architectural design on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
In this role, you’ll work closely with senior architects and engineering teams to help design, build, and optimize cloud‑native data solutions that fuel analytics, operations, and digital experiences across the business.
Support Data Architecture & Solution Design
- Translate business requirements into data models, integration patterns, and architecture components—aligned with the enterprise practices defined in the broader Data Architect job family.
- Contribute to conceptual, logical, and physical data model development for analytics, APIs, and operational workloads.
Build & Evolve Cloud‑Native Data Pipelines
- Design and enhance scalable ingestion and transformation pipelines using GCP services such as BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, and Cloud Composer.
- Help modernize data flows by applying cloud‑native patterns, echoing the enterprise emphasis on standardizing and maturing data delivery frameworks.
Apply Data Quality, Governance & Security Practices
- Support data governance and quality efforts through metadata practices, lineage, and controlled data access.
- Apply secure‑by‑design principles across data pipelines and storage layers.
Collaborate Across Teams
- Work with data engineers, analysts, product teams, and senior architects to implement solutions and refine technical approaches.
- Participate in architecture discussions and reviews, contributing to the evolution of enterprise data standards.
Learn & Grow in Cloud Architecture
- Expand your knowledge of GCP’s data and compute ecosystem.
- Develop architectural reasoning skills through mentorship and exposure to enterprise‑scale workloads.
- Grow your capabilities to progress within the Data Architecture job family, which supports career pathing across multiple levels.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree Or equivalent experience, related.
- Minimum 5 years of work experience
- Foundational experience (1–3 years) in data engineering, cloud development, or analytics engineering.
- Knowledge of GCP services (BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Bigtable preferred but not required).
- Strong SQL skills and familiarity with Python or similar scripting languages.
- Understanding of ETL/ELT concepts, data modeling fundamentals, and modern data processing patterns.
Preferred
- Experience building or supporting cloud‑based data pipelines.
- Exposure to orchestration
- Desire to develop into a more advanced data architecture role.
- tools (e.g., Cloud Composer, Airflow).
- Familiarity with data warehousing and analytics platforms.
- Coursework, training, or certification in Google Cloud technologies.

Compensation Range:
Total Base Pay Range 70,000.00 - 140,000.00 USD AnnualThe compensation range represents the low and high end of the base compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. Colleagues in this position are also eligible to participate in an applicable incentive compensation plan.
