Summary:
The Industry Banker -Industrials is a Director-level position within several Industry teams in Huntington’s Corporate Bank. The role is to provide industry-specific marketing, structuring, and credit guidance to bankers operating in our regional Middle Market and Business Banking teams. This individual will be a part of our Corporate Banking Industry team and will report directly to the Industry Head. Deal focus will be new transactions within Industrials vertical including Power and Utilities, Environmental Services and Aerospace and Defense. Success will be measured by production results, portfolio quality and fee generation in the Middle Market. We are looking for experienced bankers in Industrials.
Please note: This position is available to be filled at any Huntington Bank Corporate office locations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Proactively work with Middle Market bankers and leadership to deliver industry-expertise and guidance to locally managed clients in order to develop and deepen relationships with clients and prospective clients.
- Provide industry focused structuring and credit insights to ensure a common approach to credit across our clients in commercial banking.
- Provide industry updates and transaction updates across the Middle Market to help generate new opportunities
- Coordinate with Corporate Banking and Middle Market product partners to ensure a free flow of ideas across the teams.
- Maintain a pipeline of industry transactions within Middle Market with regular updates to the Corporate Banking Industry Head and Middle Market leadership.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum 7or more years’ experience as a Relationship Manager on industry-specific teams in Corporate or Commercial Banking
- 7 years or more of successful track record of recommending and cross selling important banking services including Treasury Management, FX, Rates, and other fee-based business to meet client needs and improve bank profitability
- 5 or more years of strong credit and structuring
- Ability to travel to attend client meetings and pitches
- Bachelor's Degree or 5 or more years' experience in commercial banking Middle Market sales role
Preferred Qualifications:
- Industrials experience highly preferred -Power and Utilities, Environmental Services or Aerospace and Defense
- 5 or more years in Midcorp Banking
- Master of Business Administration Degree
- Series 79 preferred
- Formal credit training and commercial banking underwriting experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication and negotiation skills sets
- Ability to work independently
- Partners effectively with credit and risk colleagues
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field
