This position must be onsite at one of the following Huntington office locations: Gateway in Columbus, OH, Akron Operations Center in Akron, OH, Detroit Tower in Detroit, MI, Flint West in Flint, MI, Bloomfield Hills, MI, or Covington Main in Covington, KY.

As a Consumer Direct Loan Originator, you're more than just a financial resource for our existing customers; you're their partner in creating a brighter future. You'll be working in a fast-paced and exciting professional corporate environment selling Consumer Lending and Financial products while providing sound financial advice based on a full understanding of the needs of our customers. In addition, you'll work cooperatively with other channels throughout the organization as you sell or refer the full spectrum of banking products and services Huntington has to offer. We are looking for candidates with the natural ability to self-monitor, stay on task, execute and follow a structured regimen with little supervision. Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Drives consumer lending origination and strengthens existing customer relationships through proactive, phone‑based sales activities.
  • Initiates outbound calls across multiple lead sources to introduce and originate Huntington products and services.
  • Receives inbound consumer lending sales intent calls and determines right fit lending product solutions for existing and new customers
  • Clearly communicates the value of Huntington’s financial solutions and provides qualified referrals to specialized partners—such as Insurance and Mortgage—using available tools and technology.
  • Applies effective questioning strategies to uncover customer needs, align solutions, and recommend suitable Huntington financial products and services.
  • Consistently achieves an average of 80+ daily contact attempts through the leads management system.
  • Demonstrates high energy, initiative, and a strong commitment to meeting departmental production goals.
  • Maintains up‑to‑date knowledge of Huntington products, services, systems, technology, and regulatory requirements.
  • Complies with all quality, risk, and regulatory standards; supports short‑term inbound call coverage or additional outbound calling initiatives as needed.
  • Follows a disciplined and structured approach to outbound calling to meet productivity expectations.
  • Effectively manages sales pipelines and monitors progress through established tracking tools.
  • Completes accurate, thorough, and compliant loan applications.
  • Adheres to all Quality, Risk, Policy & Procedures, Learning Updates, and System requirements.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma required
  • Minimum 2 years of Financial Sales Experience required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Branch Personal Bankers highly preferred
  • 1 Year Consumer Lending experience -- sales, retail branch, or consumer loan origination highly preferred
  • Related financial product experience beneficial
  • College or evidence of advanced education considered a plus
  • Outbound call experience preferred
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication
  • Comfortable with or enjoy outbound approach
  • Must have a disciplined approach to time management
  • Ability to work autonomously, yet as a team when needed and be a fit for the culture
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization
