Description
The Financial Sponsors Group (“FSG”) is part of Huntington Capital Markets and provides a centralized coverage and originations function for the bank’s priority private equity clients and prospects. FSG works closely in partnership with corporate client coverage teams (Commercial Bank, Capstone) and commercial banking and capital markets product teams across the broader Huntington organization. FSG’s mission is to deliver the complete capability set of Huntington Bank, Huntington Capital Markets and Capstone to these private equity firms and their portfolio companies in pursuit of strong and profitable client partnerships.
The Analyst, Financial Sponsors Group (“FSG”), plays an instrumental role in helping drive private equity client coverage, deal origination, deal execution and FSG organizational support working with senior bankers on the FSG team. The Analyst is involved in all aspects of client activity and supports senior bankers in their efforts to deepen relationships and facilitate revenue generation with private equity sponsors.
This role will be located in Huntington’s New York, NY office.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Client Interaction: Coordinate and attend conference calls and virtual meetings with clients to introduce capabilities, discuss active transactions and facilitate due diligence activities & attend and contribute to pitch meetings and new business development discussions
- Idea Generation: Identify proprietary and actionable ideas to potentially develop for private equity and portfolio company clients, anticipate needs for upcoming meetings of senior bankers’ schedule and pipelines, working knowledge of specific industry/products while demonstrating fluency in Capital Markets activities across products, identify potential transaction opportunities and complete comparable transaction analysis
- Transaction Management: Coordinate cross-functional deals teams in scheduling, attending, taking notes and driving follow-ups on internal calls, organizing creation of deal memos and supporting analyses, & performing financial analysis and due diligence.
- Quality Assurance: draft accurate work deliverables (CIMs, LP, pitches, internal approval memos) that demonstrate an understanding of the broad capital markets including M&A, DCM, ECM and bank products
- Team Organization: Supports use of DealCloud, MAX and other systems used for tracking client information, logging calls/meetings notes, maintain accurate and up-to-date records including client profiles, portfolios, credit exposures and deal files & work with senior bankers to ensure pipeline and activity updates are current
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- FINRA Series 79, 63 or other necessary combination, obtained or to be obtained within 6 months of hire date
- 6 months of experience in investment banking or corporate finance
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience in investment banking or corporate finance
- High energy and high integrity attributes, with a desire to build and grow as a key member of a fast-paced and critically important team within the Capital Markets and Commercial Banking organization
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to interact effectively across all organizational levels
- Excellent attention to detail

Compensation Range:
$95,000 - $105,000 Annual SalaryThe compensation range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and education. Colleagues in this position are also eligible to participate in an applicable incentive compensation plan. In addition, Huntington provides a variety of benefits to colleagues, including health insurance coverage, wellness program, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plan, paid leave programs, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
